Monday – TTW review chapter 16 notes and TSW complete chapter 16 section 4 in the science workbook. TSW take notes on the relationship between the mass of an object, the distance between them, and the amount of gravitational attraction. (spi 8.11.1,3,7)
There will be a VOCABULARY QUIZ over the terms from p. 414 and the terms from the Chapter 16 Notes this WEDNESDAY. An understanding of these terms is necessary for success in the upcoming lessons.
Homework: Study your chapter 16 notes and complete chapter 16 section 4 in your science workbook.

Wednesday – TSW complete the Chapter 16 Vocabulary QUIZ. TSW complete the following T-CAP Activities: p. 175 Inertia and Momentum (8.11.6), p. 183 Gravitational Attraction (Spi 8.11.4)
Homework: Study your chapter 16 notes and review chapter 16 section 4 in your science workbook.
Thursday – TSW complete any unfinished notes or lessons during the first half of the period. TTW use the remainder of the period for review.
Homework: Please study all notes from chapter 16 and complete the Chapter Review (textbook) for chapter 16.
Friday – International Day (Classes will be abbrviated and all classes will not meet. Any class time will be used for make-up work and reinforcement of this week’s lessons.)

Thursday - TSW demonstrate mastery of fossil fuels through a short quiz. TSW Identify factors that cause rocks to break down (spi 8.10.1), identify various energy sources (spi 8.10.3) and infer that human activities may be helpful or harmful to the environment (spi’s 8.10.5). TSW complete reinforcement activities for each concept (T-CAP Coach p. 138 Weathering of Rocks, p. 146 Energy Resources, p. 153 Human Activities and the Environment).
Homework: Complete the Chapter 16 study guide that you received in class today. Spi’s 8.11.1, 8.11.3, 8.11.7
Friday - TTW review the Review the chapter 16 Study guide and TSW complete an acceleration and velocity graph activity.
Homework - Read Textbook pages 437 - 441 and complete the workbook pages for chapter 16 Section 4.

Monday - TSW help the teacher select projects to send to the science fair. TTW facilitate a discussion on ways to conserve energy (regarding routine daily activities). TTW assign a poster project on renewable and nonrenewable resources.
TS is responsible for bringing the following to class this week: On Thursday, bring 2-4 old crayons and a piece of aluminum foil about the size of a sheet of paper. On Friday, bring a poster-board, 10 pictures of products made from renewable and nonrenewable resources (5 from each type), tape, glue, scissors and art supplies. On Friday, bring your workbook with chapter 8 completed.
Tuesday - TSW take notes on fossil fuel creation, extraction, processing and usage. TSW complete a concept map that details how fossils become fuel.
Homework: Study your class notes. If you have not done so, please complete the Rocks and Minerals Think Link Practice Probe #602885.
Wednesday - TSW take notes on alternative energy resources and complete a vocabulary anagram. TSW review the rocks and minerals T-CAP coach activities in prepartions for tomorrow’s lab.
Homework: Study your class notes and don’t forget to bring your old crayons and aluminum foil to class tomorrow.
Thursday - TSW complete a sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rock lab.
Homework: Study your class notes and don’t forget to bring your poster project materials to class tomorrow.
Friday - TSW submit chapter 8 of his or her workbook. TSW construct a poster that contrasts renewable and nonrenewable resources. Each poster must answer the following questions about the resources: Where is it found? How is it obtained? What are the environmental effects of extracting and using the resource? How can it be conserved? How can it be recycled?
THERE WILL BE AN ENERGY RESOURCES QUIZ NEXT WEDNESDAY (CHAPTER 9).
