For the next two weeks, our class time will be devoted to T-CAP review. The review will consist of Think Link Practice Probes, Study Island Practice Tests, T-CAP Coach Exercises and student made graphic organizers. Each lesson or activity is designed to review state assessed concepts for 7th grade science.

Monday – TSW illustrate cumulus, stratus, cirrus and cumulonimbus clouds and write a poem/song that explains the appearance and type of weather that each cloud type brings. 7.8.tpi.2 collect and record data on weather conditions.

Tuesday – TSW share his or her poem/song with the class and TTW review chapter 16 section 1 with students. 7.8.tpi.2 collect and record data on weather conditions.

Wednesday – TSW create a chart that illustrates the four types of precipitation and explains how each is formed. TSW answer three review questions regarding cloud types. 7.8.spi.1 determine how temperature affects evaporation and condensation in the atmosphere.

Thursday – TTW conduct an oral review of chapter 3 content (6 characteristics of all living things & the chemistry of life).

Friday – TSW create a chart that contrasts prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, illustrates the 8 major cell organelles and illustrates animal, plant and bacteria cells. [7.1.spi.1 recognize basic structures that most cells share (i.e., nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall, ribosome, mitochondria, chloroplast, vacuole, lysosome). 7.1.spi.2 identify major cell organelles and their functions. 7.1.spi.3 distinguish between plant and animal cells.]

Science Lesson Plans: February 26th – March 1st

Monday – TTW lead students through a cooperative learning demonstration on air’s ability to hold water vapor. TTW review the changes of state and how they apply to weather. TTW lead students through a review of the water cycle and introduce the concepts of transpiration and relative humidity. 7.8.spi.2 identify the detailed features of the water cycle given a diagram (i.e. evaporation, condensation, precipitation, run-off, transpiration.)

Tuesday – TTW review yesterday’s lesson and teach the application of condensation to weather. TSW begin directed reading workbook pages for chapter 16 section 1. 7.8.spi.1 determine how temperature affects evaporation and condensation in the atmosphere.

Wednesday – TTW review the directed reading workbook pages for part one of chapter 16 section 1 and TSW take notes on dew point and condensation.

Thursday – TSW complete a cooperative learning activity on cloud formation and record the steps to cloud formation. TSW complete directed reading workbook pages for chapter 16 section 1. 7.8.spi.1 determine how temperature affects evaporation and condensation in the atmosphere.

Friday – TTW review the steps of cloud formation and directed reading workbook pages for chapter 16 section 1. TSW take notes in his or her workbook. Activity Schedule (Student/Faculty Basketball Game)
