Monday – TTW conduct an oral review of chapter 4 using the science workbook. TSW quiz a one another using teacher made mitosis flash cards.

Homework: Study your notes and the information on your study guide for the test this Wednesday. Don’t forget to review your workbook.

A copy of the study guide is posted below.

 

Tuesday – TTW conduct an oral review of chapter 4 (textbook pages 102 – 103) in preparation for the T-CAP format based assessment of Chapter 4.

Homework: Study your notes and the information on your study guide for the test this Wednesday. Don’t forget to review your workbook.

Wednesday – TSW demonstrate mastery of Chapter 4 content through a T-CAP format based assessment.

Thursday – TSW view an animated movie that includes concepts covered in Chapter 4. TSW will answer questions from the movie for extra credit.

Friday – TSW complete the animated movie from yesterday and complete an illustration of the carbon and water cycle.

Chapter 4 Study Guide

1. Be able to define and recognize definitions for all vocabulary words. (p. 100-101)
2. Study your active transport, passive transport, and diffusion chart (see your notes)
3. Know the equation for photosynthesis (see your notes and p.90)
Carbon Dioxide + Water + Light Energy yields Glucose + Oxygen
4. Know the equation for cellular respiration
Glucose + Oxygen yields Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy (ATP)
5. Know the difference between cellular respiration and fermentation. (p. 90-92)
What is the purpose of cellular respiration?
What is the purpose of fermentation? Give an example of fermentation.
Which one does not use oxygen?
6. Know that Prokaryotic cells reproduce by binary fission. (p.94)
7. Know that Eukaryotic cells reproduce by mitosis. (p. 95)
8. How many chromosomes does a human being have? (p. 95)
9. Be able to list and identify the parts of chromosome. Know what chromosomes are made of. (p. 95)
10. Be able to identify the phases of mitosis. (p. 96-97)
11. Study the Chapter Review p. 102-103 (see your notes)
