Monday – TSW work in cooperative learning groups to record notes for page 63 of the text in preparation for tomorrow’s group assignment. TTW demonstrate the importance of cells having a large surface to volume ratio and assign student groups for presentations on cell organelles.Homework: Review your class notes and read for your group assignment.
Tuesday – TSW work in cooperative learning groups to prepare a presentation on an assigned cell organelle. TS will record project criteria in his or her agenda book. TS should use creativity and make sure that the presentation is interesting.
Wednesday –TSW plan/prepare Cell Organelle Group Presentations. TTW review surface to volume ratio and the directed reading workbook pages for Chapter 3 Section 2.
Homework: Put the finishing touches on your Cell Organelle Group Presentation and complete the section review on page 75.
Thursday – TSW present Cell Organelle Group Presentations. Each group will have a maximum of 5 minutes to present.
Homework: Read textbook pages 70 –74.
Friday – Using a Venn Diagram, TTW contrast Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells. TSW construct a graphic organizer that illustrates the 8 major cellular organelles and their functions.
