Content Standard: 1. 0 Cell Structure and Function

Monday – HOLIDAY

Tuesday – TSW work in cooperative learning groups to construct a concept map of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. TSW use the concept map to complete an assessment of how each food source is used by a cell.

Wednesday – TSW write a job description (in a classified ad format) for the cell’s basic chemical building blocks. The ad must describe the required job responsibilities and physical qualifications. Included should be a description of the expected workload by explaining whether the building block will have to work constantly or sporadically. Finally, the ad should indicate whether the building block will work independently or with other cell components.

Thursday – TSW complete a data graphing exercise that will facilitate student interpretation of bar and line graphs to answer questions and solve real world problems.

Friday – TSW demonstrate mastery of Chapter 2 Concepts through a written assessment.
