Monday – TTW review class procedures and teach students how to set up their blue folders for success in science class. Homework: TSW review the lab safety procedures handout and read textbook pages XXVI – XXIX. There will be a lab safety quiz this Thursday.

Tuesday – TTW question students regarding laboratory safety procedures from last night’s reading. TSW create an organism and make a list of all of the characteristics that make the organism what it is. TSW share his or her list with group members then each student will select his or her top six characteristics and place them in a graphic organizer given by TT. Homework: TSW review the lab safety procedure handout and textbook pages XXVI – XXIX. TSW should come to class prepared to ask questions about any procedure he or she does not understand.

Wednesday – TTW review lab safety procedures with students in preparation for tomorrow’s lab safety quiz. TSW contrast his/her organism with those of group members. The goal is to identify characteristics that will support the life of every organism represented in the group. Following group discussion, TTW facilitate a whole class contrast of characteristics.
